Hello Fearless readers!
Happy kickoff to Amazon Prime Day!
But what is Prime Day you may ask?
“Amazon Prime Day” is actually a multi-day event, from July 8-11 this year, in which a ton of Amazon products (including books) are discounted in the Amazon store.
“But Daniel,” you may say, “I already have everything I need and am just interested in finding a discounted ebook to give to someone I care about?”
What a conveniently specific question!
If that happens to be the case (or if it doesn’t) I’ll mention that my first book, Becoming Glitch, is on sale for $0.99 in ebook format for Prime Day. As you may have gathered, I have linked the words “Becoming Glitch” above to the Amazon page, so you can easily check if the sale is still active as it is a limited-time thing.
With all of that said, it is full-blown Summertime, and, holy cow, is it flying by!
In case you’re wondering about the cool stuff I’ve been up to, here are a few highlights:
BOOK TRAILER
In April, I spent a surprising amount of time looking into the possibility of creating a book trailer for Becoming Glitch.
What is a book trailer?
Much like a movie trailer, book trailers tend to be short teasers about the content of a book in video format. They give some sort of glimpse into the characters/ plot/ setting, and while there is ultimately no substitute for your own imagination, they can give you an idea about whether a book interests you without needing to read the whole back cover.
Long story short (for now) the book trailer didn’t end up working out, BUT I learned some cool lessons with AI image generation as part of the process.
WRITING
In May and early June, I tried to really buckle down on working on Book 3: the third installment of the Quantum Parables trilogy.
I have a working title (that I’m keeping mostly secret for the time being but… stay tuned).
I also have a lot of content, and have completed my “version zero” (i.e. force-myself-to-throw-words-on-a-page-until-I-have-something-resembling-a-plot) draft. At the moment I am plugging through the final few chapters of my “version 1” (i.e. more-or-less cohesive) full first draft. I look forward to sharing this story with you as soon as I can!.

MEXICO HOUSE-BUILDING TRIP
In mid-June, I was fortunate enough to be able to go on another house-building trip to Mexico; something that I could, and probably should, write about in more detail. For now, suffice it to say that there is another family in Mexico that has a home now, and, given that the temperature was in the 90s for much of the time, I was very tired afterwards.
TRAVELS
Last week I had the opportunity to visit Lake Tahoe for the first time in several years and was then able to spend Independence Day 2025 with friends and relatives who recently moved to the Napa area. Through a series of unforeseen events, I also got the opportunity to (try to) climb Half Dome in Yosemite National Park in the near future.
Wish me luck!
All of that to say that the last few weeks, or maybe months, have felt a little frenetic, but that I am still writing, progress is being made, and that I am also glad to have had the chance to get out a little bit already this Summer, and for a few reminders that we are neither brains in jars, nor ‘human-doings’ who are meant for nothing but work.
We’re human beings, and while work is a big part of life, I hope that you and yours get a little chance this summer to take a breath, and revel in the positives of wherever you find yourself this Summer.
Stay tuned for more updates, and all the best.
