September '25: What Have I Been Up To?
Some much-delayed updates on what I've been doing

Hello Fearless Readers!
And just like that, it's fall!
So, what has the author known as Daniel Sayre been up to since the middle of summer?
Well, I’m glad you asked.
Here’s a snapshot:
WRITING
Well, most notably, I finished what I’m calling “Version 3” of book 3 of the Quantum Parables Trilogy.
Yes, I have a working title, although I think I’ll share it in a less information-packed post.
Also, yes, this book is a sequel to Finding Silvereyes and is intended to round out the trilogy that was started in Becoming Glitch.
Some of the (~spoiler-free!) challenges I’ve discovered in doing this are:
a) I’ve never written a third book before, let alone the end of a trilogy, and there are an ever-increasing number of characters and events to keep track of.
b) I want the wrap-up of the trilogy to be satisfying, but I also want to leave the world/ setting available for future exploration.
c) While I am immensely proud of writing Finding Silvereyes, the writing process can be draining. Between business stuff, brain fatigue, life, and sometimes discouragement, I’ve been working to keep book 3 shorter, quicker, and more active. A culmination of the first two books, you might say. This is a different approach to writing, however, and one that I’m continuing to learn.
With all this in mind, right after finishing V3 of book 3, I sent the manuscript out to 'alpha' test readers to get quick and general feedback on the basic plot, and the book as a whole. As of writing this I now have their feedback, and am just starting to work on changes based on their early input.
As much as I’d love to have book 3 out before Christmas, I’m currently leaning toward launching it somewhere in Spring 2026.
Stay tuned for more updates!
AUDIOBOOK
After several months I have finally started to make peace with the fact that my book 1 narrator is a busy guy and, as much as it breaks my heart, I’m going to need to find someone else to narrate book 2.
I’ve just started the process of uploading book 2 to prepare for audiobook auditions. If you have any affordable audiobook tips or suggestions that you’d like to share, this would be a great time to let me know!
WORK
I thought that I would have some time for book stuff (such as blog posts) while book 3 was with test readers. Instead, this happened to be the moment that I had a new engineering job opportunity come up that was too good for me to turn down.
We’ll see what the future holds, but for now, I've had a bit less writing time than I did at the beginning of summer. I’m still aiming to have book 3 out next year, but the amount of time I have available for it at the moment has changed a bit, hence my recent radio silence.
MISC
There is always more, but in the interest of brevity, here's a list:
-Finding Silvereyes got a 5-star reader review for from Readers’ Favorite earlier this summer (here's a link to read the full review).
-I got the chance to hike up Mt. Ida (~12,880 ft) in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado with family a few weeks ago (pic below).
-I’m still hungry for feedback and reviews on books 1 and 2, ESPECIALLY as I work on book 3. If you have any feedback for me, please feel free to contact me through my author email, social media, my website contact page, etc.
All in all, however, I’m trying my best to keep to cranking away at book 3, and hoping you will enjoy it, Fearless Reader.
In the meantime, a happy fall to you, and I hope to have more updates for you soon.
Daniel
